One's first love is always perfect until one meets one's second love.

Hi my name is Fiorella and I own a ModernMatches.ca. I provide matchmaking services to single young professionals in Toronto. In other words, I play cupid and my job is to find these men and women real love in the city. Finding love is hard, I should know... I spent 10 years of my life serial-dating. 10 YEARS! This blog sheds some light on the wisdom I've attained as a result of my previous encounters/adventures/nightmares. I'll also try and shed some light on dating tips and how to find the man/woman of your dreams and keep them. You can check out http://www.modernmatches.ca/ to learn more about my business. Cheers!

When you know its love

Ive been with my partner Adam for 2 years now. We met online and had our first blind date over 2 bottles of wine and quessadilla's at the Elephant and Castle. We shared our first kiss outside of the elephant and castly against the window for Pizza Pizza. Needless to say, it was avery passionate first date and many would argue the alcohol clouded our judgement. Maybe it did. But the next day I woke up lips so sore i could barely smile but i couldnt help smiling like a school girl with a crush. From that first date it led to many others (no alcohol involved!) and eventually after 2 months we became exclusive. We bought a condo and added a dog to our home a year later. I've never been happier in my entire life.

Adam was a rare gem in my eyes. He was the kind of man countless women search for but never find. He was soft-hearted and giving, compassionate, understanding and respectful, a gentlemen who would open the car door and pull out the chair at dinner, he would show me constant attention and affection. He was adventourous and spontaneous, always up for anything and eager to do new things. He had that wild side to him but inside, he was the sweetest man in the world. Thats the key combination most women want - a man who can be independent and stand his ground - but provides you with the emotional attention, sense of protection (as your dad did) and endless amounts of love you need.

So as much as I recommend to clients to avoid drinking on a first date I'll be the first to say - i failed that rule. And sometimes... breaking the rules works in your favor. I dont think i would have had the guts to kiss him had the sauvignon blanc and pinot grigio (Fat Bastard and Tini) not been there for support. :)
